Sailing races, dog of the week, a powwow, and more

Marin events and activities this weekend

We are back with more events to check out this weekend in Marin. Thank you everyone who completed the survey (go here if you haven’t) — the overwhelming preference is to keep this email on Wednesday mornings.

Happy Birthday: Lara Skinner, Connor Antonio (give a shout out)

There’s nothing better than a local family-owned business. You know the type where the whole family works and practically lives there? Check it out on a warm spring day, whether for a drink or meal. Plus, there’s live music multiple days per week (and even open mic night every Wednesday if you are feeling brave).

If you’d like your pet to be considered for Pet of the Week, please fill this out!

Thursday, March 20

For 30-45 year olds – only tickets for men remain. There aren’t many of these types of events in Marin, so give it a try and report back.

Friday, March 21

A fun event for the whole family from 6-8pm. $12 with kids under 3 free.

All Weekend Long

Cornhole, live music, and sunshine with a high of 70. Spring is officially here!

Watch the world’s fastest sailboats zip around. Races are 2-3:30pm each day, which could be a good time to walk across the GG bridge. Or watch from a boat that leaves Sausalito.

The kids museum will have special art opportunities. Tickets are $25, but this could be a good time to start a year family membership for $209.

Saturday, March 22

Learn how to make scones and biscuits 4-5:30pm. Kind of steep at $100, but a fun learning activity and you get to bring a lot home.

Live Music in West Marin

Head west and hit up several free shows in one day. Irish music 1-4pm at Toby’s Feed Barn in Point Reyes Station, then walk across the street 2-6pm Americana and drinking music at Old Western Saloon. 6:30pm bluegrass at Giaco’s in San Geronimo. 8:30pm “George-Ish Jones-Like + Bois Rouge Cajun Band” at Smiley’s in Bolinas ($10 tickets). Some more info here (a great resource for West Marin events).

Sunday, March 23

Free at COM. Starts at 11am, but the main performances are noon and 5:30pm.

Art and Supper at the Headlands

There is a free performative art exhibition 3-6pm and $90 dinner 6-9pm. Sounds like a great excuse to get out to the Headlands on a sunny day.

Take a beautiful location, add Grammy-winning jazz musicians, you got yourself a memorable event. $25 from 5-7, but leave time to take the shuttle up the hill.

My guy is playing in Marin! If you like rockabilly, honky tonk, and 60’s country music (and honestly who doesn’t), check him out. It is a Rancho Nicasio dinner show, so $24 tickets and you purchase dinner as well.
