San Domenico Summer Programs

San Domenico Summer Programs offer a fun, engaging, and well-supervised experience for campers ages 4-18. Families can choose from a wide range of camps in arts, sports, STEM, music, and creative exploration, all set on our beautiful Marin campus. Many camps include time in our campus pool, and families can take advantage of convenient options like free Marin bus transportation, as well as optional hot lunch and extended care add-ons. With nearly three decades of summer programming, San Domenico camps make it easy to plan a summer that is both enriching and fun.

An update on the Marin Buzz email content:
Now that winter is over, there are a lot more exciting events happening around Marin. And our Monday emails have been a bit lackluster for non-history buffs. Plus, we have been working hard to share a lot of great news that might be months in the future on social media (that you might have missed, even if you are following, due to the algorithm).
So we are moving the “get your tickets now” and “if you want a trip outside Marin” sections to be in Mondays’ emails. Plus, we will share bullets on other Marin news we share on social media.

Thursday, March 26
Support your local businesses in a beautiful location. Have you ever been to the Indian Valley Campus of College of Marin? 4-7, free.
This man was part of the Freedom Riders in the Deep South and the strike at SF State. He had so many stories, his friends made him write a memoir. 6:30pm, free.
All Weekend
It’s opening weekend for the Ross Valley Players at the unique Barn Theater in Marin Art & Garden Center. And this is a rare sports play about a baseball player in the steroid era grappling with his choices. Runs the next 3 weeks, tickets are $30.
I had to look it up: “Contra dancing is a social, community-oriented American folk dance where couples dance in two long, parallel lines, featuring walking steps, live traditional music, and partner swapping. It is a high-energy, easy-to-learn style led by a caller who teaches the moves—such as swings, dosidos, and turns—before the music begins.” Live fiddle, banjo, and more. All experience levels welcome. $70 for adults, $40 for young adults, free for kids.
Need an excuse to visit this beautiful location this spring? Each Friday and Saturday a knowledgeable docent leads a tour 10am-noon through the end of May. Free.
Saturday, March 28
Hundreds of people will line the sidewalk the third of a mile between the old library and the new one. They’ll hand pass the final 500 books. They hit maximum capacity for volunteers, but you can go watch it start at 9am. Then there’s a ribbon cutting at 10:30am and the doors of the library open to all at 11:30am.
Help study our local bees. I think you catch and catalog, although I’m not sure. 11-2, free but must register in advance.
This sounds fun! Costumes are encouraged. I’m going to be a bit more direct: if you go, you better wear a costume and fully embrace it. 6pm, $30 for adults, $20 for 11-17 year olds, $10 for 10 and under.

Sunday, March 29
I think if you visit the brewery you get to sample chilis and vote on your favorite. And the registration is still open to submit your chili as well. 1pm, free.
Wednesday, April 1
Malibu Farm and Cinelounge are pairing up to bring parents a unique and fun-for-all evening. You drop your children (ages 5-12) at the movie to see Super Mario Galaxy with a trusted childcare partner. And you walk across the street for a three course meal! 6-9pm, $162.
Get your shop on
There is a massive garage/warehouse sale in San Rafael on Saturday from 10-4. “We’re clearing out a ton of quality items and unique finds. If you like deals, vintage, or just digging for treasure — this is your spot.”

Isn’t it great we live in a world where you can just get obsessed about something and do it without asking for permission? I don’t know much about this business, this section is never an ad (same with restaurant of the week). Allison and I just came across it one day as “homemade in Marin” and we became curious to learn more.
“European Chocolate is Eva’s passion. She has been making quality European chocolate truffles and other confections for over 20 years. Eva’s Delights takes pride in using the finest chocolates only and pairing them with local California ingredients.” I don’t know that I’ve ever had a European chocolate truffle, but it sounds great!
