Short weeks are hard. Good thing it’s almost another weekend. Here is what is happening around Marin:

This is a cool husband-and-wife business who make delicious sourdough pizza all over Marin. All their pizza uses organic flour and a sourdough starter that is 7 years-old. Maybe you’ve seen them at the Fairfax Market every Wednesday. We’ve had their pizza at HenHouse Brewing in Novato, and they’ll be there again this Friday 5/30 (full calendar). Plus, they have a pizza-making workshop coming up 6/12 at Marin Art and Garden Center. Yum!

Bosun “BoBo” is a 10 year old Guide Dogs for the Blind “Career Change” pup, and he is a very important member of our family

Wednesday, May 28

“At the end of the brewer’s day, we will use their fresh, spent grain and work it into a beautiful artisan bread.” 7pm, $60.

All Weekend Long

It says “New Technicolor vintage & contemporary goods”, but I suppose that is just marketing. They do sales every other week… but might be worth checking out?

Friday, May 30

Did you know Corte Madera has a town band? I support that, what a cool idea. They play at 7, free.

Saturday, May 31

Fans of Marin history shouldn’t miss this event presenting fascinating discoveries about the Bolinas-Fairfax Road. 6:30pm, $35 includes appetizers, desserts, and wines.

This is a free ranger-led event at 8:15. “Objects that will be on display are a 5-day-old Moon, Mars, the colorful double stars Algieba and Cor Caroli, the Beehive cluster, the intriguing globular cluster M3 and we’ll dive deep into space to look at the distant Sombrero galaxy.”

Meet the horses, see a roping demonstration, and do some crafts. From 10-1, $20/child suggested donation.

Sunday, June 1

It’s not summer until BBQs on the Lawn start at Rancho Nicasio. I don’t know anything about this band, but you can’t go wrong with the BBQ and backyard vibe. Show at 4, $35. Check out all the shows this summer.

Hike the slopes of Ring Mountain looking for wildflowers, including the Tiburon Mariposa Lily that only exists on that one hillside! Free, reservations required.

Feel free to stop by the Sweetwater Music Hall from 1-3 for a free show.

Need an excuse to head to the coast? How about a great free show 3-6 at historic Smiley’s Schooner Saloon?

“A symphonic tale for children” to introduce young folks to the various sections of an orchestra. This will have puppetry and bilingual narration. Free from 3:30-5.
