No fluff. No spin. Just business clarity.
Many of the summer activities series wrap up this weekend, so here is your last chance!
Happy birthday: John Antonio, Henry Z, Scott Hoback

Did you know Marin has a skydiving business? I was surprised! They operate out of the Novato airport, about 1-2 miles from Sonoma County lines. It is owned and operated by a local family and has great reviews. They fly a small plane, so I think the typical flight is two paid jumpers going tandem (not with each other, with an instructor…)

Thursday, August 21
The Founder of Moms Demand Action is one of TIME’s 100 Most Influential People. She is giving an interview and signing books. 6-8, $85 including wine and light bites.
The downtown public library is hosting this event with the Marin History Museum. See what downtown used to be like. Free, 6:30-7:30.
Friday, August 22
They shut down the street just two times this summer, so this is your last chance.
They have it all: food trucks, live music, “bouncy fun”, and shopping. Free, 4:30-8.
I haven’t featured the Jazz and Blues series very often, because I’m not that into Jazz and Blues. But the setting is incredible at Gabrielson Park and the next two weeks are a swing band and a “harmonica and horns” blues band. Free, 6:30-8.
The West End of Downtown San Rafael is closed on Fridays for a street festival. This week the popular local band San Geronimo will play. 6-9, free.
The last in the Marinwood music in the park series. 6-8, free.
All Weekend Long
They continue to shut down the street on Friday and Saturday evenings. My pick this week is Sgt Splendor on Friday. Free, 6-8:30.
Saturday, August 23
Three categories: children (14 and under), families, and adults. Don’t you want to spend all day at Drake’s Beach with your family and see what you can build? Free, 9-3:30.
They have some great bands and local food + drinks lined up. Kind of an interesting location tucked away in MV. Free, 11:30-6.
From 9-3 and it says “50% off everything”. Grandfather clock, Tiffany-style floor lamp, furniture, and so many trinkets. My generation is just going to liquidate NFTs when we pass away…
There are some fun activities at this including a DIY screen printing station and a 3-point shooting competition (with adults allowed). 12-3, free.

Dragon dancers, toy boat, kites, and even “hear childhood anecdotes from Milton Quan, member of the last shrimp-fishing family to live at China Camp.” 11-3, free except for $5 parking.
Sunday, August 24
The Sunday show at Peri’s is a new band playing Grateful Dead and more. 5-8, free.
Don’t forget this runs every Sunday 9-2. There’s not much parking, but this is a worthwhile stop while walking or rollerblading.
The final installment of the excellent Corte Madera concert series. I don’t know much about him, but sure he’ll deliver as the closing act. 5-6:30, free.
