Welcome to the long MLK weekend. Here is what is happening across Marin…

Marin sometimes gets flack for so many pizza places (there is one right upstairs) and not enough upscale dining. Well VIN is one to try for your next special occasion or if you just want a good meal.
It seems Marin is having some kind of group revelation about it right now. All of a sudden everyone is bringing up this restaurant, whereas just a couple of months ago I had never heard of it.
Unfortunately, I haven’t been yet. It opened on 4th Street in early 2025 and from the sound of it, is excellent on all dimensions: food, drink, ambiance, people. Has that been your experience as well?

Pet of the Week is brought to you by: Tiburon Dog Butler — Dedicated dog care professionals that offer curated, group adventure hikes throughout Marin’s most beautiful trails. Serving Tiburon, Mill Valley, Corte Madera, Strawberry, Larkspur, San Anselmo, Ross, Kentfield and Fairfax! 415-413-6178

With several Bob Weir tribute shows this week, I came to learn about Bella Rayne, an impressive 18 year-old guitar player. She is playing Sweetwater on 1/30 with a number of Grateful Dead songs on her set list.
Get your shop on
There is an estate sale Saturday in Larkspur and another Thursday through Saturday in Tiburon. But this is the unique one: Saturday and Sunday a staging company is liquidating their furniture and art inventory. It sure looks good in the pictures and they are even selling a GMC box truck!

There’s also a Shoe Sell Off in Novato. All shoes are $10-25 (I assume that means a matching pair). But here’s the odd part: the previous post from this account was over 3 and a half years ago. Who knows what to expect…
If you want a trip outside Marin
It is SF Sketchfest the next two weeks. There are way too many events to call out even highlights, so I’ll just mention one: The Bay Area Pun-off.
It is Winter WINEland weekend in Sonoma. Sounds like you get tastings at a bunch of wineries all weekend for $110.
