End of Year Marin Buzz Survey
The first year is almost in the books, what a fun ride it has been! This community has come a long way and we are looking forward to taking things up a notch in 2026. And we could use your help.
We would love your feedback about what you like or would like to see different. All the questions are optional, so answer as few or as many as you’d like:
We also greatly appreciate any financial contributions. Marin Buzz is independently owned and operated. Your contributions help keep the stories flowing so everyone can keep reading Marin Buzz for free:
I’m back in town and the rain is back. Am I the problem?
If you enjoyed the 49ers game on Sunday, be aware that they play on Saturday at 5 this week with the #1 seed on the line.
Otherwise it is a pretty quiet weekend for events, but here is what is happening:

I want to thank them for giving me the first big break in my modeling career. It was early in the pandemic and we were all exploring new hobbies. How many of you learned to bake bread? Modeling wasn’t exactly my new activity. It was actually giving myself a haircut.
And I did such a poor job, Pond Farm featured my picture on a beer can:

They did a special release “Home Haircut IPA”… I wasn’t the only one to make a horrible mistake…
Beyond this funny beer can concept, they do an excellent job in all areas. It is on the West End of 4th Street where the parking gets easier. The beers are great (favorite: Dark Mast black lager), they do food, trivia, live music, and more. They also have a Stein Society membership with some cool discounts and exclusives for regulars.

Enzo is a 1 year old Golden Retriever who loves to watch The Art of Racing in the Rain and the main character, also name Enzo, who he was named after.

New Year’s Eve Celebrations!
While there are some fancy dinners and high ticket all-inclusives, I don’t exactly know what to recommend. So I asked for tips on Instagram. I didn’t learn anything useful since 54% of folks are in bed by midnight and 22% will stay up at home with just their family:
I was surprised to find there are no fireworks celebrations in Marin. Why is that?
“San Rafael attempted to bring back a massive New Year's Eve celebration for the Millennium. The event lost nearly $1.2 million, creating a financial and political scandal that effectively ended the city's appetite for hosting large-scale, high-risk NYE spectacles.” This is why we can’t have nice things 😂.
They dump 26,000 small bouncy balls from the top of a fire truck ladder. You’d think that would mean there would be balls everywhere and it would take a while to pick them all up. No, no, no. In less than a minute they are all scooped up by kids in hard hats. Noon, free.

Elegant attire for a dazzling night. 9:30, $55.
Thursday, January 1
Start those New Year’s resolutions off right! The State Park Service has 3 guided hike options: sunrise at China Camp, 10am ferry to Angel Island, or 9am at Mt. Tam.
All Weekend Long
A bioblitz is a rapid survey of species in a small area. You’ll take pictures and upload them to a shared app and see what everyone found. 11-2, free. Registration required by Jan 1, 8pm.
Saturday, January 3
Did you know there is a legit 70-member Mayflower Chorus that is named after the pub? They started over 40 years ago and this is a fundraiser event for their travel. 4pm, $28.
Sunday, January 4
Excitement is contagious. If you are viewing a performance, you can tell when they are into it. Well here is an all-star band, including a Grammy-nominated artist, coming together to play music for a special occasion. I suspect they might enjoy it. 4pm, $30 (which doesn’t include dinner).
The streams are flowing this time of year, so it’s a good time to get out and get dirty. “We’ll look for interesting critters hiding under logs and rocks.” 10-1, free, registration required.
