Wednesday, June 24

This is a regular speaker series at Deer Park Villa under the redwoods. Now that it’s summer, maybe this is your time to check it out? The theme: I Probably Shouldn’t Have Done That. 7-9:15pm, $35.

Thursday, June 25

They’ve booked some impressive comedians who will perform clean, family-friendly sets. 6pm, free.

Friday, June 26

This is the first of four shows in Marinwood Park. The Hot Takes are described as glamorous neon-drenched rock with Springsteen-esque energy. That sounds like a good fit, because the one time I went to one of these at Marinwood, it was a much wilder experience than most. 6-8pm, free.

It looks like there are still tickets available to see this legendary Bay Area band. This is an outdoor show as part of the Hopmonk Cookout Series. 6pm, $50.

Other series still happening: Sausalito Jazz and Blues by the Bay

Saturday, June 27

There’s horses, but also a ton of interesting hands-on activities like horseshoe painting and butter making. Right by the Bear Valley Visitor Center near Olema. 11-2, free.

Over 50 years ago as a teenager at Redwood High School, John Pryor joined an excavation at Olompali. It wasn’t a state park then, so he even lived in a teepee near the Burdell Mansion. Now he’s leading this unique talk and walking tour. 9-11am, free ($8 parking).

This is the first of three shows at the amphitheater in Hamilton this summer. This one is Maya Latin Tribute Band. 5-7pm, free.

I love a good pop-up, especially ones we don’t get all the time in Marin. Drip Sandwich operates up in Santa Rosa mostly, but they’ll be at Adobe Creek Brewing from 1-6pm.

This series is every Friday and Saturday all summer (except the 4th of July). But this Saturday is the first movie night at the Creek Park Stage. They’ll show Cars at 5pm and F1 at 7:30pm. Free.

Sunday, June 28

This one’s at the Keg Stand Brewery. Every time I share one of these, there’s a lot of clicks on it. Someone please go and tell me if they are actually good events. 7pm, $50.

Ruth Gerson is the headliner tonight playing folk-rock and has been a featured performer at the Newport Folk Festival. There’s even an opening act this time: a band of middle schoolers who have gone viral online. 5-6:30pm, free.

The big news last week was that The Kitchen Table announced they are closing June 27th. The owners are reopening in the same location in August as an Italian deli called Alioto’s Focacceria. They’ll have sandwiches and focaccia pizza. Given the quality of The Kitchen Table and the chef’s background (French Laundry trained, Alioto family history in SF), I’m sure this will be excellent. I’ll keep you updated once it’s open.
