The Recycled Orchestra of Cateura plays violins, cellos, and saxophones built from landfill trash, at Marin Shakespeare’s downtown space on Fourth Street. Social hour and wine tasting at 5:30pm, concert 7-8pm, $25.
Friday, September 25
Downtown Fairfax’s once-a-year “party in every store,” with 60+ local artists showing work in shops along Broadway and Bolinas Road. 5-9pm, free.
The final show of 2026, with the band West Coast Blues Society, at waterfront Gabrielson Park. 6-7:30pm, free.

Saturday, September 26
The 50th edition of the contest that Robin Williams famously lost in its first year (and Dana Carvey won in 1977). Five finalists each do their best 15 minutes, and they perform twice to two different crowds. 7pm and 9pm at the Marin Center Showcase Theatre, $50.
Six bands play the downtown plaza all day, from Lorin Rowan's Deep Blue Jam to power-pop veterans The Rubinoos closing it out. 11am-7:30pm, free.
Bring the guitar you've been meaning to restring to The Magic Flute. For $15 you get new strings installed, 100% benefiting the Sweet Relief Musicians Fund. 3-6pm.
The local troupe brings its “sexy-psychedelic” mix of aerial silks, fire performance, and dance to Forest Meadows Amphitheatre. 7:30-9pm, tickets online or at the door.
Sunday, September 27
The 1941 roadhouse on the Nicasio town square throws itself a fan appreciation day. The live music lineup is a surprise. Music starts at 3pm, $25.
Raw and baked oysters, live music, a bocce tournament, and mahjong lessons at Dunphy Park, all supporting the Community Boating Center’s free public docks and youth programs. Noon-3pm, free entry, food for purchase.
A roaming tasting party through the Marin Art and Garden Center, with local chefs, wineries, botanical cocktails, and live music, ending with dessert at candlelit tables. 5-8pm, $300 fundraiser tickets required by 9/24.
In 1976, Christo and Jeanne-Claude ran a 24-mile fabric fence across Sonoma and Marin to the sea. See a surviving piece of it at the O’Hanlon Center, plus a 3pm documentary screening. 2-5pm, free, RSVP required.
Josh and the Wittness play swing and doo-wop at the Woodacre Improvement Club, starting with an hour-long beginner lesson. No partner or experience needed. 5-8:30pm, $22.
Walk into the ground floor of the historic Cheda Building on the corner of San Anselmo Ave and you'll find a long, skinny cocktail lounge. It comes from the same friends behind Stillwater in Fairfax. It started out as Voyage, a natural wine bar, then rebranded as Bar Voyage. In their words, “cocktails were the missing piece.”
Early in the evening, it feels less loungey. Food by Sam's Sonoran: griddled Sonoran-style burritos stuffed with things like chile verde pork and Hatch chiles, plus nachos and salads. But later in the evening, the lights turn down and the music up. Open 3-10pm Tuesday through Saturday.
