Happy Father’s Day to those who celebrate!

And a happy sweet 16th birthday to David (earn a birthday shout out below with two referrals).

Have you seen goats around Marin munching on weeds and natural grasses for fire mitigation? When the weather is nice, it’s the dream of many-a-computer-worker to work outside. And by work, I mean be outside letting animals do the work. The Reddit post linked above claims homeowner was quoted $15 per goat per day (many providers are from Sonoma County, but here is one Bolinas guy). The City of San Rafael recently put out a request for proposals for 175 acres! If you know anyone with a herd of goats, tell them Marin Buzz wants to partner up.

Alfie is a little black and white cat who came into our life during the pandemic. He was born in a barn in Yolo County and was the runt of the litter.

If you’d like your pet to be considered for Pet of the Week, please fill this out!

Wednesday, June 11

Full Moon Hikes

There is one at China Camp in San Rafael and one at Old St. Hilary’s in Tiburon. Starts at 8:15pm.

Friday, June 13

4th Street will close for the first of three summer markets. Live music, art and games for the kids. 5-9.

Saturday, June 14

Tiburon Waterfront Park is a nice place to stroll around and look at cars. 11-4.

If you like bikes, check out this swap meet 9-2. They’ll have coffee and donuts early, and also half-priced museum entry.

State Parks Week features this event where you can learn about redwood forests and hike through one of the few remaining Old Growth Coast Redwood Groves. 11-1.

Sunday, June 15

Leave it to Belvedere to shell out for a primo concert in the park band. 4-8 and free.

11-6 with food, drinks, and live music.

Father’s Day is the second of 6 pancake breakfasts they will have this year. You hike to get there, no other way! (Although you can choose if you want the hike to be longer or shorter.) $13 for adults, $8 for kids.

Another beautiful spot for a Father’s Day BBQ where dad doesn’t have to man the grill. 12-3. $93 adults, $34 kids.

I recall my dad singing along to a Neil Diamond cassette tape, must be a dad thing. 4pm, $37.

Another free event for State Parks Week. Guided tour around the island 11-2.

If You Want a Trip Outside Marin

Larson Family Winery in Sonoma has a “Dads, Cabs, and Cars” event Sunday with live music and the Hopmunk food truck (it’s one of the few wineries that has a place for kids to run around, make a reservation).

Unsure what to do with kids off of school? Be one of the first to take the SMART train all the way to Windsor this Friday for the station’s grand opening. Looks like the station is 2 miles away from the massive Russian River Brewing there, so bring your bikes.
