It looks like the April showers will dry up just in time for the weekend. Here’s what’s happening around Marin!

This is held outdoors at the Strawberry Overlook, in honor of Earth Day. 6-7:30pm, free.

Game night that is good for kids, similar to Bingo. 6pm, free.

A special one-time-only version of the Marin Buzz party. Katiana wrote the music history book about the famous Record Plant Sausalito studio and will be playing a variety of the hits recorded there, from Fleetwood Mac to Huey Lewis to Sly Stone to Dave Matthews Band. Noon-4:30, $30.

These have been held for nearly 100 years, come be a part of the tradition. 6:30-9, $15 in advance, kids are free.

Pick up a dog passport and take your dog around town to get stamps. There’s a costume contest, parade, live music, and more. 10:30-4, free.

This is a cool festival out on Tomales Bay featuring top vendors. Noon-4, free.

Trivia for you. In the movie Grease, you recall "This is the event you've all been waiting for, the National Dance-Off. And away we go with Johnny Casino and the Gamblers!" That band was played by Sha Na Na. 30 years later, Frankie Adel would become the lead singer. And now he is in Marin with his high energy show of rock-n-roll from the ‘50s and ‘60s. 7:30pm, $25 tickets plus dinner.

I don’t know if there’s a more impressive all-you-can-eat menu, have you had his pickle-brined fried chicken? Champagne poached prawns, baby back ribs, oh boy. There’s a DJ and unlimited jello shots (other drinks are for purchase). 11-4, $75.

This is a great community event to learn about the environment and have fun. There’s live music, games, activities, and the best thing in the world: FREE STRAUS ICE CREAM. Noon-3, free.

Free for educators anywhere, not limited to teachers in San Rafael. 2-3, free.

A new organization is bringing its singles events to Marin and starting with a free event. 6-9pm, free.

This Saturday is the last day (discount day) of an estate sale in San Rafael with interesting artwork.

Closing Friday is an online auction to benefit Marin’s Lifehouse non-profit (voted the best disability service). There’s a ton of local food, wine, gift cards to places you already go, and experiences (seaplane tour).

The Marin City flea market makes its triumphant return.

This spot has only been around a decade, but seems like an institution. It’s one of only twelve Michelin recognized restaurants in the whole county. It’s by a mother and daughter team, a rare kind of family business. The mother, Jenny, is the chef for the Asian fusion and Burmese food. The daughter, Jennifer, manages the operations and front-of-house. One dish you might not expect, but everyone raves about? The tea-leaf salad. It includes fermented tea leaves and an excellent crunch.
