Marin events and activities this weekend
It’s the true holiday season: Star Wars Day (May the Fourth be with you) followed by Cinco de Mayo (Fifth of May).
Happy Birthday: Erin Meredith

Did you know Marin has one of only 3 locations in the world? It is amazing how many people in Marin have never stopped by … I’m sure you’ve seen the “living roof” from the freeway.
Amy’s is headquartered in Petaluma and famous for its frozen vegetarian meals sold in grocery stores. The drive thru makes fresh food, and despite the name, they also have indoor and outdoor seating. I recommend the chili-cheese fries (all their food is vegetarian).

Wednesday, April 30
This is a fundraiser for the Red Hill Dog Park. There will be live music, merch, and a raffle. From 5-8 with two drinks included for $35.
Friday, May 2
This free community party goes from 5-10. There will be live music, local celeb DJs, and a kids story time. Tons of local food and drink (Griffo Distillery, Hog Island Oysters, Straus Creamery, and more).
All Weekend Long
Music, dance, games, sheep-dog and falconry demos, and more. This runs both Saturday and Sunday 10-6. $30 for adults, $15 for kids.
Saturday, May 3
This is the opening weekend for the farmers market that is every Saturday from 9-2.
Watch the Kentucky Derby and raise funds for a good cause. It will be held at the impressive St. Vincent’s School for Boys. 1:30-4:30, $50 which includes food and 2 drink tickets. Wear a hat!
Sunday, May 4

Kids get to see their favorite cool trucks up close. It is a fundraiser for the Larkspur library that costs $75 for up to 5 people. 10-12:30.
A dog friendly outdoor concert for the Marin Humane Society. Fleetwood Macramé plays from 2-4:30. $50 for adults, $10 for kids.
Every hour starting at 9am, must register in advance.
$50 from 7-9 at a cool wine bar. Limited to 30 men and 30 women.
Sunday, May 4: Star Wars Day Celebrations
The Lark Theater is showing episodes IV, V, and VI. Kids can build a LEGO Millennium Falcon in Novato or Corte Madera. There is a trivia and costume party at Tipsy Putt in Emeryville. Oh my, Petaluma has a burlesque Star Wars event, “in a galaXXXy far, far away…”
If You Want a Trip Outside Marin
Check out the Bodega Bay Fisherman’s Festival. It is both Saturday and Sunday, but I’d go for Saturday and join the Wooden Boat Challenge: teams of four get 3-4 hours to build a wooden boat using the provided materials (no power tools) and race it around the bay! Then Tainted Love plays at 3.
