[MARIN EVENTS] All you can eat chili, porches, a new restaurant, and more

Marin events and activities this weekend

Help us join The Keg Stand founders club

Our "Bar of the Week" recently was The Keg Stand in Novato. They are a new brewery and created a founders club to raise funds for improvements.

Some of you said Marin Buzz should join and throw a party, so we are seeing if we can get $1000 to make it happen: we are currently 2% of the way there! Contribute what you can and all the proceeds will go to the membership. Thanks for supporting a Marin business!

The new spot opens this week! It is in the old Floodwater location just off 101 and is a collaboration between some of the top restaurateurs and brewers in Marin. Mill Valley residents started East Brother Beer Co. a decade ago in Richmond and have joined forces with the food team behind recent successes like Playa and Corner Bar. I’m sure this will instantly become a go-to place once it officially opens on Friday.

Unlimited tastings for $30. Or come to watch the Hot Pepper Eating Contest where "Contestants will eat peppers of gradually increasing spiciness, according to the Scoville Scale. Those who successfully swallow the entire pepper move on to the next round, those who fail are eliminated." Noon-4.

This is the first time they are trying stand-up comedy as part of the San Anselmo Live on the Avenue series. Expect PG-13 content. 6pm, free.

"Fun for the whole family - games, food, music and of course....BEER!" Kids activities are included in their $12 ticket price and one beer is included in the adult $23 ticket price. Plus, they have a family deal (2 adults + 2 kids) for just $55. 3-8.

This month features bluegrass music by the Town Howlers and 15 local vendors. 11-5, free.

Sunday, September 21

“These are some great porches in such a quiet neighborhood… Let’s pack it with people and 15 bands playing at a time!” This is a very cool event with a ton of awesome bands, many we have featured on Marin Buzz for paid concerts. Free, 12-5.
