[MARIN EVENTS] Pancakes, s'mores, fog, and more

Marin events and activities this weekend

Should we hold our own event?

There are thousands of us who read this email each week, what if 20 of us got together for our own event? For example, I get emails from new folks moving here, wouldn’t it be neighborly to say hi and share our Marin tips? Or it could just give an excuse to go to some of our favorite spots. Let us know what you think!

Or as it’s known in our family “Pizza Church.” This Italian restaurant is in Novato’s first Catholic church and has a lot of charm. They have some big tables that are excellent for groups and the bar section has booths, so it’s a comfortable spot to watch a game too. Plus, they give you an amazing garlic-butter roll with your meal. One of those hidden in plain sight gems most people haven’t tried!

Pet of the Week is brought to you by: Tiburon Dog Butler, 415-413-6178 (now hiring a dog walker)

Inky & Tito, adopted in March due to owner’s passing

If you’d like your pet to be considered for Pet of the Week, please fill this out!

Friday, October 10

The supernatural horror film by John Carpenter was filmed in West Marin. Have you seen it? $20.

This is the last one of the year and features the David Outlaw Band. 6-9, free. Also look for Fox Pizza there:

Festival games, pumpkin decorating, face painting, and drinks can be purchased for adults. $25 for children, adults are free.

All Weekend Long

Friday evening is the Hot Rod Cruise through Downtown. Saturday walk amongst the cars and more. Free.

Saturday, October 11

This is my favorite event to mention in hopes that someone goes and tells me if it is as awesome as it sounds. 3pm, free.

This is the penguin surfing movie in an awesome surf town. Hot dogs and popcorn at 6, movie starts at 7, free.

Did another year pass where you said you were going to take the kids camping, then never did? Head out to Stafford Lake where the rangers will bring the s’mores fixings for you. 6-8, free.

Sunday, October 12

The West Point Inn is hosting their final pancake breakfast of the year. The only way to get there is by hiking, then reward your efforts with a feast. 9-1, $13 for adults, $8 for kids.

The Museum of the American Indian in Miwok Park is hosting the event with native music, dance, food, and a marketplace. 10-3, free.

A band called “George-ish Jones-like” (great name), a high school mariachi band, and indie rock. Not a bad place to enjoy oysters and tacos. 2-7, $20+.

Get Your Tickets Now

Cavallo Point is having a BFF Night benefit on Wednesday 10/15. It’s a deal at $45 since it includes two drink tickets and light bites. Not sold out yet…

Want a trip outside of Marin?

Fleet Week in SF, minus the Blue Angels. Yes, due to the government shutdown, the Royal Canadian Air Force Snowbirds are now the headliner.

If you enjoyed the Tiburon Wine Festival, Healdsburg Crush is this Sunday and sounds similar.
