Come join the Marin Buzz events!

Bringing cool people together — creating fun times — making new friends. We are currently exploring several new ideas (see the poll below for one), and we are bringing back two of our successful events.
The Sausalito Day Party fully takes advantage of Marin’s beauty and weather. It will be back this Sunday 3/22 from noon to 4:30, on the deck overlooking the Bay with a great DJ lined up. Tickets are $35 or $40 at the door (space permitting).
Our Dinner Club returns on Tuesday 3/31, this time to San Anselmo. There are many great restaurants in San Anselmo, the curated matching of 6 strangers has been excellent, and we are trying some new twists this time. Take your personality quiz here.

Wednesday, March 18 and Thursday, March 19
Stand-Up Comedian Yaqiao Yang in Fairfax
She’ll be at Deer Park Villa on Wednesday for $35 tickets. Then on Thursday at Mac’s for $23 tickets.
This Weekend
You oughta know, I love Alanis. It’s opening weekend for Marin Musical Theatre Company’s play, and it’s gonna be fine, fine, fine. Take your best friend, best friend with ____. $37.

Saturday, March 21
This is at the same venue as the Marin Buzz parties, Eria, so I know it will be a great place to enjoy your coffee with a view. Two top small-batch roasters will serve unlimited samples. 8:30am-noon, $20.
This guided tour of downtown San Rafael sounds interesting. “View old movie houses, famous hotels & hear all the scandalous stories!“ 10am, $10.
This sounds like an interesting show at the Sweetwater. “Harmoniously blend refined musical ability with a scarcely restrained tendency to let it all hang out. The result is a controlled burn, a riveting sound, and a connection with fans that sells out shows.” 8pm, $26.
The Mill Valley Community Center is hosting this family-friendly event. Crafts, games with prizes, a photo booth, and more. 10-1, free.

Sunday, March 22
No better place to enjoy this great weather. Allison and I will be there, come say hi. $35 online, $40 at the door.
An easy life doesn’t produce great art. “Written and recorded in the wake of a life-altering brain cancer diagnosis, the album is a powerful creative statement from an artist whose sound seamlessly blends country roots and folk storytelling with a hint of pop.” 8pm, $26.
This is a celebration of Native American culture, dancing, art, food, and more. 10-6:30, free.
Tuesday, March 24
Did you know Marin is the birthplace of mountain biking? Well come find out all about it! 6:30pm, $10.
Get your shop on
There’s an auction Sunday at 11 (you can view before in San Rafael, but bid online) with wine, jewelry, furniture, and a vintage Jetsons 1963 lunchbox.

In Sausalito on 4/6 there’s an impressive panel discussion and networking evening with three successful women founders. They are all Marin moms who are friends, including the former founder and CEO of Gymboree. 6-9pm, $55.
Rancho Nicasio released their full Summer BBQ on the Lawn schedule. It’s a really nice spot to take in some music, highly recommend it. Many shows will sell out, so I’m telling you now. Which ones might sell out fastest? Los Lobos, Sun Kings (Beatles), Petty Theft (Tom Petty), Asleep at the Wheel, Jackie Greene. I’m telling you, but really reminding myself to look at my calendar and book a couple…
Baby goat yoga! Yes, that’s a glorious thing where you attempt to do yoga moves and goats are flitting around and even standing on you. Toluma Farms out in Tomales announced an event on 4/26. So check that out, but also, should Marin Buzz consider our own event?
Should Marin Buzz do an event in Tomales with baby goats?

The newest restaurants always get the most attention. But Cucina has been around since 1998 and is still crushing it. And since our Dinner Club will be in San Anselmo in two weeks, I figured this is a good time to feature this great restaurant.
The vibe is great. Good food, presented well and an excellent staff. It feels comfortable — not stiff and old-timey like some Italian restaurants.
I recently learned they also have a happy hour from 3-5, including on weekends. $10 for their impressive cocktails or select appetizers. So I’ll have to check that out soon…
