Outdoor Movie Night at Strawberry Recreation

Strawberry Recreation will be having our first ever outdoor movie night on May 15th. This event will take place on the Majors baseball field where we will have two bounce houses, photo booth, and coloring station prior to the movie. We will also have food vendors on site so bring your appetite. The field will open at 5:30pm and the movie will start between 7:45pm/8:00pm. We look forward to seeing everyone at Strawberry Recreation’s movie night!
Food Vendors: Benny’s Smash Burgers, Crepes Billig, Chiki’s Tacos, and Baked Marin Cookies.
The sun is coming out and it’s going to hit 80 degrees early next week! Just a wonderful time to appreciate teachers and mothers, thanks for all you do.

Wednesday, May 6
5 minute conversations, dress to impress. Is the Embassy Suites Marin’s favorite hotel, or is that just marketing? 7-9, $34.
All Weekend
Over 200 artists in Marin will open their studios and allow self-guided tours. There’s too much to list, so explore the map near you to find your favorite type of art (ok here’s one to check out with refreshments).

Friday, May 8
Dr. Price is a professor and co-director of Marin’s Buck Institute for Research on Aging. This is a free talk at College of Marin about the future of medicine and how innovation is unlocking longer healthspans. 1-2:30pm.
I’m a sucker for a good costume party. Plus, disco music is perfect for dad dance moves. 8:30pm, $12.
This Marin band is celebrating their 30th anniversary and still rocking. 9pm, $20.
Saturday, May 9
This is a massive yearly event with over 200 cars, food, music, and a parade. It is noon-6 and free. Afterwards, the beautiful Elks Lodge hosts the afterparty with a band at 6:30 and food/drink for purchase. $28 online, $35 at the door.

Has your spouse ever gone to yoga and come home with a puppy? YogaSix is collaborating with the Milo Foundation and bringing in adoptable puppies. 10:30 or noon, I think $30?
We’ll be back on the gorgeous deck overlooking SF and Angel Island. Sunny and 72 degrees, it’s setting up to be a perfect day. Drinks and tacos for purchase. Music is ready: dance party inside, quieter but can still hear the music outside. Noon-4:30, grab a $20 ticket today (the early-bird tier sold out, but I’m giving you one more day before the price increases).
This is a unique event to raise funds for the hanging flower baskets around downtown. $50 for wine tasting and small bites at various storefronts. 3-7pm.
Here’s your excuse to head out to the coast on a beautiful sunny day. End it with this indoor concert by a talented Marin musician. 8:30, $17.
Sunday, May 10
New this year: reservations required. They do four of these per year (6/21, 8/9, 9/13 are the others) and you hike to it on Mt. Tam. So don’t show up this weekend without a reservation. And if you want to go this year, book one of those future dates now. Related, Ranger Hilary Collier on the Mt. Tam State Park Instagram is a great follow.
Mother’s Day Options
There are too many to list, so I’ll share two ends of the price spectrum. Cavallo Point Mother’s Day Brunch Buffet at $160 for adults, $60 for children. Or just grab a sandwich at Good Earth and drive out to Muir Beach for a picnic. That’s a great day too.

This is a new restaurant opening in June that it’s time to get excited about. Shannon Gregory is the owner of The Marshall Store and a few years ago added Route One Bakery in Tomales. His new restaurant is opening right on the main stretch of Point Reyes Station and I’m sure will be an instant hit. They’ll have a seafood forward menu, but also a wood-fired grill with some variety as well.

Winnie is a goldendoodle and just turned 6 in January.

A Marin-Based Team Helping Local Businesses From Overpaying on POS & Credit Card Fees

Hi, we’re Shannon Ronan and Breelyn MacDonald — Marin locals, former business owners of Two Chicks Jerky, and Strategic Partnership Managers with CHIPP. After years of running our own business, we understand firsthand the challenges and costs that come with it.
Now, we are excited to be helping business owners with the systems they use everyday to take payments and run their business. We review setups, uncover hidden fees, help negotiate better rates, and find better-fit solutions - all with local support and a genuine desire to help our community thrive.
As a way of giving back, a portion of our proceeds will be donated to Marin Humane — an amazing non-profit organization we were happy to have worked with that is close to our hearts and doing meaningful work for animals and our local community.
