Happy Birthday: Simon Pass

One of the benefits of being active on Marin Buzz’s Instagram, is I get to discover so many inspiring Marin small businesses. Do you want the best toffee made in the entire Bay Area according to the experts at the 2025 SF Chocolate Salon Awards? Kate makes it by hand in her home kitchen in 2.5 pound batches. You can order online or I’m going to look for it next time I’m at one of these stores.

Gigi & Jasper are Dachshund mix mutts that were adopted during Covid from a family moving to Australia. They are 8 years old.

If you’d like your pet to be considered for Pet of the Week, please fill this out!

Wednesday, May 14

Kids love slime. At 4 the first 50 attendees get a free Signature Mini Slime as part of their grand opening party.

Is he the next great American novelist? This is your chance to be there from the start and find out. 6:30pm, free.

Friday, May 16

Learn how to roll plus hands-on demonstrations. Many courses, drinks, parking all included. 6pm, $210.

All Weekend Long

First Assistant Director Randy Carter will share stories from years of working with Jerry, Elaine, George, and Kramer. 7pm Sat or Sun, $20. It’s the greatest show of all time, right?

Many films, but the highlight for me is the Saturday night outdoor screening of A Complete Unknown.

Saturday, May 17

Live music, pig roast, BBQ sauce competition, celebrity bartenders, quirky festival games, and more. 11:30-5. Presale tickets end tonight, $30.

It’s back at the Lumber Yard 11-5. Music, local artisans, and small businesses.

Watch the riders, enjoy BBQ, live music, and crafts. Free to attend, 9-2.

Have you been wondering, what ever happened to that woman-led Van Halen cover band, Ann Halen? Well, they are back after years away! At 9, I think there is a $10 cover.

This sounds like an entertaining dinner show at Rancho Nicasio. 7:30pm, $24 tickets plus dinner purchase.

If your music choices are more cultured than the cover bands above, this one is for you. Incredible Portuguese singer, plus harp and guitar. 6pm, $108.

Sunday, May 18

Knees weak, arms are heavy. If you have ever wondered what it would be like to be on the Bachelor and forced to do awkward activities, this is your chance. 2:30-4:30pm, $28.

This is in SF, but too interesting not to share. Starts at 5pm, $25.

If You Want a Trip Outside Marin

Just a half mile across the county line, one of the Sonoma County Farms is open for visitors (one of many across Sonoma county). Bay to Breakers run and costume party is Sunday in SF (so don’t drive to SFO through GG Park). Foodies head to Healdsburg for the $250 wine and food festival. A music festival at the beautiful Dawn Ranch in Guerneville.
