We love a family run restaurant, and this is a perfect example. Heidi and family at Insalata’s are nearing 30 years taking care of the community and serving delicious Mediterranean food in Marin. Top-notch take out and catering as well.

Mother’s Day is the first of 6 pancake breakfasts they will have this year. You hike to get there, no other way! (Although you can choose if you want the hike to be longer or shorter.) $13 for adults, $8 for kids.

Check out the historic Falkirk Mansion with tea, sandwiches, and kid activities. Start times vary from 10:30 to 2:30. $85.
