The North Bay’s Trusted Name in Window Tint & Paint Protection!

A Shade Darker is proud to expand into Marin County, with the opening of our second location. Since 1991, we’ve built our reputation in Santa Rosa and across the North Bay by delivering premium window tinting, ceramic coatings, and XPEL paint protection film with unmatched quality and service.

We’re excited to bring that same craftsmanship, trusted expertise, and top-tier products to the Marin community, and we look forward to being of service in the area.

Recognized as the #1 tint shop in Sonoma County and the North Bay, and a 7-time Best of Sonoma County winner, we’re proud to carry that same standard into Marin.

Tiburon closes down beautiful Main Street and the restaurants sell specials out their front doors. They only do it at the start and end of the summer, so don’t miss it. 5:30-8:30pm, free.

This is a brand new series, right on Miller Avenue and the Depot Plaza. DJ, vendors, kids activities, food, drinks. And when I say series, they also are only doing it at the start and end of summer, so check it out. 5-8pm, free.

Another series still happening: Sausalito Jazz and Blues by the Bay

All Weekend Long

Fairfax goes big for this yearly event at the start of the summer. Friday night is family movie night on the ballfield: The Princess Bride (one of my top 5 movies all time). Saturday at 10am is the parade through downtown (more funky, and therefore interesting, than most in Marin). Both Saturday and Sunday: three stages of music, crafts fair in the redwoods, flea market, and family activities.

This is one of the biggest festivals in Marin all year with over 200 vendors lining Grant Avenue. The event is both Saturday and Sunday, with Danny Click & the Hell Yeahs! headlining Saturday at 5:30pm and Pop Fiction Sunday at 4:30pm. Don’t be surprised: to purchase beer or wine, you also have to purchase a souvenir glass (it’s a fundraiser for the chamber of commerce, supporting more festivals throughout the year amongst other things).

The Wizard of Oz performed way up Mount Tamalpais with a great view. This is the only weekend with both Saturday and Sunday shows (note: Saturday is sing-along day). Prices vary.

This is one of the county’s newest car series and quickly became popular. They limit it to two hours, talk about the social aspect, and building real relationships with fellow machine enthusiasts. Love it: “the energy is real because it’s finite.” 8-10am, free.

The monthly series at the Lumber Yard is doing something special this time. They’ll have an iron-on patch craft, DIY candles, and even cupcakes and cocktail tastings for free. 11-5pm, free.

Sunday, June 14

This celebration is right on the lawn right by the Golden Gate Bridge. Live music by David Martin’s House Party, bites, first specialty cocktail, and valet included. 3-6pm, $50.

It’s too late to run in this great Marin tradition that is the oldest trail race in America. But go watch, cheer, and join in any after race festivities.

This sounds like an unforgettable experience. Opera singer Caroluna plus a pianist at such an incredible spot. There’s no parking available up the hill, so either walk or a shuttle is provided. 3pm, $25 for adults.

Another series still happening: Corte Madera music in the park

This Mill Valley entrepreneur just had her first big breakthrough on her passion project: her granola is in its first store! It took years to get here, endlessly iterating on the recipe to achieve the perfect crunch without the stickiness. Lani has Hawaiian roots and 1% of proceeds go to supporting a cause her great grandmother spent her life fighting for. I look forward to following her success and expect many more local shops start carrying it as well. More details in the video:
