The Dinner Club Returns on Wednesday 3/4

Three Locations: Tiburon, Fairfax, and Novato!

The Marin Buzz Dinner Club is a fun way to meet awesome people. You take a personality quiz and that morning you find out your restaurant where you’ll meet five strangers. Then after dinner, all the tables come together for an optional afterparty.

This time we are bringing it to the corners of Marin. There will be events in Novato, Fairfax, and Tiburon all on the same night, Wednesday 3/4, and each of those will have their own nearby afterparty location. There will be fewer spots available in each location, so grab your $20 ticket here:

What a rainy week! It looks like it will stop on Friday and Saturday, so let’s get out to some fun events.

Wednesday, February 18

Click through to read the full description, including a real-life character “Three Fingered Jack“. 7pm, $20.

Friday, February 20

This is the same venue and DJ as the Marin Buzz Day at the Bay Partay, so you know it will be good. There will be live percussion by Ammo Drums to keep the rhythm moving. 6-10, $15.

A UC Berkeley professor and expert in invasive plant pathogens will share the alarming research and how you can stop it! 5:30-6:30pm, $5 donation appreciated.

Saturday, February 21

Beer and cookies with live music by Temper of Sound. 5pm.

The Town Hall transforms into a Parisian jazz club for this dinner and dance fundraiser. 5pm, $75 including the meal.

The north end of Sausalito has quite the history of Beat Poets, musicians, and artists. Looks like a small and cool group. 6pm, I think it is free.

This is a Selena tribute band and three DJs. 8pm, $24.

Sunday, February 22

Learn how WildAid inspires global action to protect wildlife and oceans. It’s a top ranked charity that also secures free ads featuring stars like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jackie Chan, so I’m sure it is interesting from the business standpoint as well as the conservation impact. The talk is 4-5:30 for $20, with an optional paid dinner to follow.

Instead of a tribute band, this group imagines John, Paul, George, and Ringo reunited decades later for a tour. So they play the Beatles hits, but also best of their solo careers. In character, but not in 60s costumes. Interesting! 3pm, $42 and up.

Tuesday, February 24

Hear from the award-winning historian who wrote a book about this topic (and one about Levi Strauss history). 6:30, $10.

The Marin Buzz day party is back, Saturday 2/28 from 11:30am-3:30pm. This is on the deck overlooking the water in Sausalito and the same DJ MONĪ and sax player will be there, which was incredible last time. $35, but only $25 if you get a group of 8 people. It’s on pace to sell out, so grab your ticket here.

There’s a medium coming to Cinelounge Tiburon. I was going to share it as it got closer, but it sold out and they added a second date on 3/7. So I better share it now in case this one sells out. 3pm, $160.

An event in Sausalito is bringing together Black founders, funders, operators, and allies shaping the future of technology on 2/27. Impressive speakers on AI and robotics, plenty of networking time. $25.

If you want a trip outside Marin

There’s a Festival of Olives this Saturday at Jacuzzi Winery in Sonoma. 11-3, free.

The Beer City Festival is in Santa Rosa on Saturday. “A traveling circus of beer, running, and fun.” There’s a Beermazing Race treasure hunt all over town, Beat the Beast unique take on a beer mile, and more. Sounds unique…

How many Michelin stars are to be found in Marin? Just one: Madcap.

It’s been around for over 8 years and received its first star back in 2019. The owner operator is Ron Siegel, who is the only American to beat an Iron Chef on the original Japanese TV show. And it wasn’t close, he swept 4-0!

This week they started a new weekday 4-course menu in addition to their 11-course menu. Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays only for $145. So this is a good time to give them the attention they deserve! It’s a unique menu with daily changes that can best be described as modern American with a French and Japanese fusion.

Pet of the Week is brought to you by: Tiburon Dog Butler — Dedicated dog care professionals that offer curated, group adventure hikes throughout Marin’s most beautiful trails. Serving Tiburon, Mill Valley, Corte Madera, Strawberry, Larkspur, San Anselmo, Ross, Kentfield and Fairfax! 415-413-6178

My dog’s name is Mishka, which means ‘bear’ in Russian. We named him that because he is brown like a bear, and now he even likes honey!” 🐻🍯 he is about 2 years old.
